Steadiness isn’t just about sitting still - it’s about helping your gundog manage their emotions and develop true self-control.
Our Steadiness Mini Course is designed to shift your focus from managing your dog's steadiness with extra cues (such as sit or wait), or physical restraints (like leads and steady fobs), to instead helping your dog develop their own self-control, regulate their own emotions and learn how to self-manage.
It is about showing your gundog how to steady themselves, so that they always automatically wait for your send cue, no matter what the situation or environment.
This mini course is suitable for all gundogs, of all ages and levels. It is ideal for working gundogs, competition dogs, and pet gundogs, as the skills will be applicable to all areas of life - whether you want a dog that doesn't run in on retrieves, is steady to birds flushing, doesn't lunge on the lead, or steal food from your kitchen counters.
In our steadiness mini course, you’ll receive:
-
An in-depth PDF guide exploring what steadiness really means for our gundogs, why it's a challenge and some things to consider from a dog's point of view.
-
Our full “Get It, Don’t Get It” game recipe - a fun and powerful way to teach impulse control, which will become the backbone of your steadiness training.
-
With printable step-by-step written instructions and accompanying training videos to guide your progress.
-
A final invitation to take our Steadiness Challenge - a practical opportunity to put your training into action.
